Subject: RE: Help- Repairing rotted shed poles

Kansas
Have you seen how Morton builds there new sheds, where they plant a treated wood post & then bolt the untreated vertical wood columns to those. I fixed a couple rotted off poles on my pole barn by using my post hole digger to dig a post hole next to the rotted off one. It then took a little hand work with a sharp shooter to clean the dirt off next to the rotted stub. Dropped a railroad tie in the hole next to it, & sandwiched the tie to the good top post of the shed. I actually used old roller chain with a tightening bolt through the to end links, but would have used carriage head bolts if I would have had some long enough.

Not pretty, but that was over 5 years ago.
