Why can't ag get this figured out?  Deere is a pretty major manufacturer, one would think they could produce the parts list for a machine with a known serial number, but they can't.  I can give the exact serial but they still can't tell me what options it has...yet I can order any part I want for a 1974 (that's thiry-five friggin' years ago) Ford (that's the 'they don't build trucks anymore' Ford) L9000 with nothing but a description of what I need and the last 8 of the VIN....and in most cases I can do it at ANY heavy truck parts counter, regardless of what brand they are associated with.  And the parts will almost certainly be a fraction of the price of a similar component for an ag tractor.

Yes, Ag mfg's need to put a little effort into the parts business.
