The staggered closing disk update was a fix for rocks, bricks, root balls, etc. plugging the closers. If this is not a problem, stay with the 800 style. The staggered closers whip-saw the seed trench and degrade seed placement IMHO.

I have 900 style units on a 5500 bean drill, but converted my 900 style back to 800 style on my HRF 800 corn planter because I much prefer the job they do.
