Subject: RE: planter monitor headaches

Alexandria, IN (East Central Indiana)
Had this problem myself....ran large brush up and down in seed tubes but didn't solve my problem. Dug around and knew I was dropping seed so I kept goin. Next rainout pulled planter into shop and pulled sensor off of seed tube and even though I had just cleaned with brush and was sure brush touched sensor....found out it did nothing! Moisture and dust combo over several weeks use had coated sensor so I had to pull off and clean each malfunctioning one by hand. Solved problems immediatly...some had even counted some seed and were indicating low populations...weird you would think if sensor too dirty to "see" seed it would be all or none!
