Central, IL | I've used a Mac for 10+ years now. I've had 4 during that time period. I find that at times they can slow down but if you do some maintenance and upkeep they can maintain their birth speed. For example, my main iMac was running crazy slow,
1. I reformatted the whole hard drive and started fresh with all my software and only added back the files I needed along the way.
2. I cleaned out the bottom vent which I think was a huge part of the problem, there were so many dust bunnies it was keeping the fans running constantly and the CPU couldn't run at full speed because the fans weren't keeping up.
Now, it runs great and just as fast as the day I got it. | |
