NW Washington | Back about 50 years ago we had a neighbor the tried plowing with two tractors. He would start one down the furrow and jump on the rear tractor and follow. At the other end he would stop, run up and jump on the MM U which had a low seat and platform and turn it around and head down the furrow and then get on the Case and chase it back to next turn. Had to make sure the rear tractor was faster than the front one. I saw him pull this trick, but I am not sure he did it for long. A screen door spring was commonly used to hold the steering wheel so the front tire would crowd the furrow. | |
