Sioux Center, Iowa | Another thought. Don't know if the 881 has metalert but I'd highly recommend metalert with a processor. Ours doesn't have it and we didn't think we needed it as we planned to leave it set up for only corn. We've blown the bearings apart twice on the processor from stray metal. Again, ours is a NH processor which only opens up to about 3/4 inch before the bearings blow. Other processors may open wider to pass obstructions. We've run ours about 6 years now and haven't had bearing problems otherwise and the rolls look like new except for the chips where the metal went through. Chop about 70 A/year. | |
