Subject: JD 4700 help

Rivers, MB
Have a 1997 4700 sprayer. Brother cleaned out the sprayer and said he sprays out the booms when rinsing (not moving) with the rate controller set to #3 (happens to be set at 6 gpa). How can the sprayer spray out when it is not moving. I always thought the sprayer had to be set to manual pressure (setting #0) to spray when not moving. I tried it like he did and it does spray out, although at around 11 psi. Speed is showing 0mph and gpa is showing 0 gpa. Wondering how that works.
Speed is read by radar by the way. I can see that if the speed was from a GPS and it sensed a little bit of movement that it would spray at very low pressure but cause its on radar, it doesn't make sense to me.
Any one got any ideas.
