Chevy trailer brake control?

Subject: Chevy trailer brake control?


SW Iowa		I have a 2008 Chevy with the intergrated trailer brake control. When I plug the trailer into the truck the dash says "Trailer connected" and the brakes work when you use the dash control but not when I step on the pedal. Is this normal? Also the breakaway battery will not show it is charging. The trailer works fine on our other pickups. Any ideas? TIA.
