South Texas | Bought it a couple years ago. Little use, but sensor went out--cost $300 to repair and probably should have junked it. Now it will discharge the battery so I have to keep it out and install it only when in use. It's a tape DVD type plus will record to a card as well. When it's working, it's pretty good. I think it's a SCD 103.
Looking at HD versions and it seems like it's Sony or nothing. I've decided that I really do not need the expandable storage devices that clutter around my desk. From experience, I'm always somewhere near a computer so I can download.
I'll check out that Sanyo solid state. I like that concept even better. Seems to be more of the future than a spinning disc that sucks energy. Just my thoughts.
