Heil Harvesting, Ulysses KS/Limon CO

This happened Monday night. About dark.

Reconfiguring the back axle to bring the back end up off the ground. Also rebuilding a hydraulic motor on the chaff spreader. The axle project was actually quite a project-lots of pressing tie rod ends and ball joints. Anyway. Jacking it up to get the tires on in the new configuration. Blocking for safety as I went. Got it raised up and was wheeling a tire up in position. Hear a single crack. Look, nothing unusual. Continue to roll tire toward combine. Big cracking sound. Then large yell from me. Then bang. Set it down pretty gentle. No major damage.

Pretty good looking creosote soaked block.  Or so I thought.

No one got hurt.  The combine is fine.  But could have been bad.  Be careful out there!
