| the lower rates of water make ru work better because there is less iron for the ru to get tied up with that's why there is a need to run something in the water to soften it, or in other words tie up the iron so the ru stays in the water and does what it's supposed to do
less chance of the ru being neutralized, means more of the active ingredient gets on the plant.
if you have a big dew and spray early to the point that it is dripping off the plant after the sprayer goes by then that is also a problem, but more than likely any increase in ru's efficiency is because it didn't get tied up in the water.
That's another reason you need to watch what you tank mix with ru. Sometimes you get by but if you're on the edge of getting enough on and then tank mix with something like atrazine or any of the bunch of other products like degree or harness xtra that are on a clay based carrier, the clay will help tie up the roundup and at times you will either need to increase the ru rate or you might not get a good kill.
don't know of the length of time that ru sits in a tank mix like that affects how much gets tied up or not, never heard that part of it discussed. | |
