| Yes, they are still selling it as a grazing substitute for winter wheat. Nearly impossible to kill the stuff in wet areas of the fields. I hear the breeders are wokring on improving the cold tolerance in ryegrass, so for those of you in the northern plains it will soon be coming to a farm near you. Any farm that has a highway frontage is now infested. Most people aren't doing anything to control it, most don't even bother to clean out their combines when moving between fields. Judging by the way it has spread this past year, it looks like we will only be raising wheat every third or fourth year and no more wheat after wheat on infested fields. I would say 60% of the farmers in our area are continuous wheat, they are in a world of hurt.
