It could be either a gasket or intake gasket. The best thing to do is get a cooling system pressure test done and/or a compression test. Usually with a bad head gasket a compression test will find the cylinder or cylinders with the bad head gasket. A cooling system pressure test will do that to and you might find the intake leak if it has one to. If its determined to be a head gasket while you have the one side apart I would do the other side to since your in that far. Is there any coolant in the oil?
