| The early 800s unit that held the opening disks were pressed steel instead of cast and the opening disks and covering disks were thin. If you have the late series 800 the row unt is basically the same. The staggered closing disks are or are not an improvement depending on field conditions. We went back to early version.
the steel tube that has a spring on it that chemical flows through and sets pressure on press wheel has gone through several versions. One version has a welded loop on the front of the tube instead of holes drilled in the tube which get egg shaped. The seed depth knob has a stop on it to prevent the depth from changing going through the field. This requires buying a new knob and I believe a different threaded rod.
The hex drive shafts were changed to 7/8" . | |
