SW MN and Gold Canyon AZ | Even though i'm only 52, the wife and I decided to buy a vacation home last month in Queens creek arizona (south east of phoenix). We have been down there before and love the weather. The prices for houses are .35 on the dollar right now. With loans at 4.75% !! This was as much an investment as was a vacation getaway. I just can't see them getting much cheaper than they are now.
We plan on retiring early if possible, maybe just farm the land and turn over the hog business to some young gun.
I know to many people get in a rut, retire late and never go anywhere. Also see to many get sick or get cancer or die and never see retirment age.
Not for me. I want to enjoy life before I get to stiff and old and can't go anywhere.
