Saskatchewan, big whitetail country!!! | Good job Dave! It is a great kid project for sure. We've been raising broilers for 6 years now and it is rewarding as you say. Especially on the dinner plate! The pocketbook depends on how much feed you must purchase. We raised 500 two years, 300 two years, 200 one year, and this year went to just 50 for our own use only. We charged 2 bucks a pound. What did you charge? We backed off a little, as we were having too many deaths which I now attrbute to feeding time as you mentioned.
Too many farms are not raising their own food these days, and for the 5 minutes a day it takes to feed the chickens, they are missing out!!! |
