Well this area must be the 5% of Kansas that doesn't use hedge. I know of no one that uses it, all new posts around here are creosote, and have no problems, but we are typically the driest part of the state so maybe that's why they don't rot as bad here, nothing irritates me more than trying to get a staple to go into a hard old hedge post though. I would give away every hedge post in the fence line if i could.
