| I think it comes down to each individual and what they want to achieve. Everyone is different. Amount of storage, margin money, etc. A lot of the posts I read here shows guys pretty happy with hta's or forward contracts. Not a bad deal as long as you know your cost of production and are locking in an acceptable margin. There is a lot more out there. Spreads, strangles, straddles, collars, volitility plays, etc, etc.
I am in the camp that market advisors are a no win situation. I am sure there are people out there that disagree. I sat thru a meeting with Mark Gold. He's just a broker with a loud mouth. The problem is 90% of the farmers in the room hung on his every word.
I have taken the "school of hard knocks" road. Wasn't pleasant but paying excellent dividends now. | |
