Subject: Re: Cornbelt forecasts

I have traveled over a 5 county area in east central Illinois doing spraying. When you are 13' in the air alot of fields look terrible compared to driving by them in your truck. For the most part the poorer ground looks the best and alot of flat, highly productive ground is gone or terribly hurt. With some rain in the next few days there are areas that will have close to a record corn crop here, but many fields have lost 10-50%. If we get no rain in the next few days there will be more of a loss on all grouind. Minnesota might be great but we have had more 90's than we have had for years already. I am not saying it is a total loss at all but I think there is 10-25% taken off the top "here". IMO unless there is alot more rain than predicted for the next week and we cool off alot there is more upside potential. Rain and cool, it could get as ugly as Tara Farms wants to believe.
