South East , Manitoba , Canada | Some times it's best to let the calf decide... often when I have struggled with a calf it's nursing when I'm not around. Check the calf and see if it has anything in it;s stomach. "Patience is a virtue"... however you need to review what's happening with that calf. Does it have energy to feed ? Is there some other reason that it's not nursing? I had a calf once that I struggled with for a week ... tubed it and fed colostrom (milked from the cow ) ...electrolites to get it energy to suck... milk from the cow (that I had to milk out) ... tubing ... bottle feeding. Lots of stress . Turned out it had a bad valve... or a hole in its heart... died on day 10.
Mother nature has her ways.
