if the skin is broken, the calf did get up...and your assumption that hiefer is a "baby hater" is likely correct.

Keep in mind the "baby hater" thing IS genetic ( also generally triggered by harder births coupled with a faulty mental gene in the cow ).
Also since the afore is genetic...don't be suprised when it happens again with said hiefer's relatives.

Sounds to me like your feeding em to good....and checking em to much ( they EXPECT you to do everything for em ).

Perhaps WEAN those cows...treat em a couple times a week, check em then.

Cows Work for You, You don't work for them.

Perhaps think this: What did God put here first? Cows....not the elevator, not a veterinary.
