How does having an "income" change your non profit status for your church organization.  I have been told you may have to start a separate "for Profit" corporation that is ran by the church as to keep the books all separate.
Years ago our pastor bought his own place, parsonage empty, some wanted to rent it out, said that we needed to keep it for a pastor in the future.  I said we will not be having our own pastor in the future since we will be part of a bigger group since less and less people coming to church.  
That was about 15 years ago, parsonage sold, the church is part of another town now.
