NW IA | Currently run a class 7 case ih flagship combine, is getting some hours on it and had a more downtime than I would have preferred this fall so looking some at upgrading. Atleast until I see the trade cost from the dealer I normally work with. Looking at the auction market currently and way things have been trending is almost cheaper to buy an auction machine and keep what I have for a "spare". Idea to me is ok if something happens go get other machines and fix when its rains unless it doesn't which guess is much different that owning 1 machine that has an issue. Don't have the labor to run 2 in soybeans so that isn't really a consideration even though would be nice but owning 2 is just 2 to take of also. Anyone doing this and use the spare enough to justify keeping it around? | |
