Western Oregon | Growing up, Mom made ice cream in the ice trays in the freezer compartment of the old Kelvinator. Milk/cream, eggs and sugar, mix with her hand mixer, pour in ice trays and put in freezer. Remove from freezer and let defrost enough to whip it again with the hand mixer and add flavoring. Put back in freezer until serving. My favorite was peach. Dad like peanut butter and honey. My wife and I have made it but I would have to go into family pictures and stuff to find the recipe. We put it all in a storage tote and put it in Son's attic after Mom passed away. I don't eat much ice cream, just a cone here and there like at Tillamook Creamery. I do get a sorbet once in a while, especially when I can find sugar free raspberry....James | |
