Northwest Iowa | I have never owned a bale processor but was wanting to buy one to bed calves with corn stalk bales inside hoop barns. My local dealer has a used one that looks to decent to me so I told him I would like to demo it. It appears to be in good shape.
The problem is I can’t get it to grind more than half the round bale of corn stalks. I am guessing it is operator error since I am not sure exactly how to use it. Everything turns and spins.
The bale just rides on top of the knives and it doesn’t really get sucked in to be ground. They are 1200lb bales 5x6 rounds.
The corn stover is from a chopping corn head we raked it and baled. Does that matter? Is the material not big enough? I am looking for any advice or suggestions.
