Likely because a turbo gasser would require premium, and too many would be tempted to use regular gas since the option is right there. With a diesel you are forced to only have one available source.


Not becessarily, of course it will perform better with Premium gas but the computer will adjust to fuel octane. I had a Buick Riviera with the supercharger and GM said put whatever fuel in it u want... fwiw it was a beautiful car, but a lemon , driven easily and motor & transmission didn't make 100,000 miles...GM paid for new motor ,I ate transmission
