Subject: May/June calving question:

Western Nebraska
Starting to converting from Feb/March to May/June calving. Asking partner about converting faster, he says "I don't know, some guys say the cows in May/June calving give too much milk with small calves and have problems". Supposedly giving highest milk flow, from best grass period, at time of having smallest calves with low milk consumption requirements
Is this a problem, potential problem or baloney? Thanks
