| I'm a Type 2 diabetic. So far I have been able to keep it under control by oral medications but the dr. tells it it won't be long before I will need to start using insulin:~(. I never eve knew there was a history of diabetes in my family until I was diagnosed with it and then found that I had a couple grandparents that had it. Since I was diagnosed with it my older sister has been diagnosed with it as well. She's had it alot tougher than I have & had to go on insuling within the first yea, if I have had it for about 6 or 7 years.
After doing some research I found that it was common for diabetes to skip a generation. So far neither of my children have been diagnosed with it but I really worry about our 3 grandkids as my wife has Type 2 diabetes as well. Hopefully this research will finally lead to a cure or at least something that will contain it. Not so much for my sake but for my grandkids & all the other children that have this dreaded disease. | |
