| I plant straighter rows with the MF-135 because its not enough to hold the steering wheel in the same position on the 4020 to drive a straight line. I converted from common hydraulic to separate marker hydraulic line so I could get the marker down at the beginning of a row instead of 25' later. I need the marker in the 25' to keep from wandering. The 4020 would probably take a gallon of gas per acre even though it could be run at an idle, but it would ride nice. A set of remotes would cost a lot for the early 4020, but are possible. An auxiliary valve plumbed in like a loader is less expensive but not collectible.
Neighbor here used to use this planter to plant about 426 acres each year, probably took most of two weeks for corn and beans. I don't work it as hard. The 7000 plants very nicely at 4.5 mph.
