Rivers, MB | If your auger is a bit on the short side for the bin that you have, and depending on the roof angle, sometimes the auger will hit the eave of the bin before the spout on the auger gets in the hole of the bin. That's where the long spout comes in handy. Our 61' auger on a 3900 bu Friesen hopper (16') was a situation like this. I would agree though, that in most cases, they are too long. Especially if you have them on the end of an auger that you use for filling trucks. We need to shorten one of ours now that you bring it up.
