We changed planter tractors last year from 4450 to 8420 on a 12 row 1760. We were trying to buy an 8130, but couldn't find one then, and ended up with the 8420 at a better price. I was concerned about fuel usage on the bigger hp tractor. Shifted up and throttled down, and checked usage several times at .17 gal/ac, or about 6 acres per gallon. Been a while since I checked to 4450, but it didn't do nearly that good.
