Downtown Shell Knob MO Come Visit! | Im like everyone esle and thought that intersecting would work better and be more aggresive that offset, but in really heavy or wet wheat straw I had problems with the intersecting wheels clogging and then dragging until I noticed them or they broke off when I hit a rock. Now I have all offset and they work just as good in hard sod and then do a lot nicer job cleaning out in heavy surface residue. I double crop beans behind fescue and ryegrass crops and plant into some very heavy sod conditions and might be one of the only guys that needs a coulter to open a trench and I dont use coulters at all. Row cleaners and good opener blades is all I need. I dont know why anyone in grain crop rotations would run a coulter with a rowcleaner. |
