Downtown Shell Knob MO Come Visit!
Im like everyone esle and thought that intersecting would work better and be more aggresive that offset, but in really heavy or wet wheat straw I had problems with the intersecting wheels clogging and then dragging until I noticed them or they broke off when I hit a rock. Now I have all offset and they work just as good in hard sod and then do a lot nicer job cleaning out in heavy surface residue. I double crop beans behind fescue and ryegrass crops and plant into some very heavy sod conditions and might be one of the only guys that needs a coulter to open a trench and I dont use coulters at all. Row cleaners and good opener blades is all I need. I dont know why anyone in grain crop rotations would run a coulter with a rowcleaner.
