Rivers, MB
We have had numerous JD reels w/ plastic fingers. Now have a honeybee on our JD swather w/ U2 reel w/ steel fingers. So far, I'm not super impressed with the steel fingers. I find them to be a little too agressive and found that they wrapped canola around the reel sooner than the swather with the plastic fingers. The agressive reel fingers might be a good thing in really down wheat but thankfully, do not have to deal with that often. I did have one of the steel fingers get caught in the knife and stop the knife. Not sure if that would be reason enough to go with the plastic though. don't like the steel fingers when working around the knife. Easy to spear your head with those steel fingers!

To me, I would be undecided. Interested what others think.
