Subject: RE: filter location on transfer pump?

SE Nebraska
I never used to have a filter on the tank plumbing, but put one on just yesterday.  Had problems with dried calcium and moss in the tank that keep plugging filters on my sprayer- Made a world of difference.  I have always been told to put strainers ahead of the pump (on suction side) to filter water before it hits the pump.  Supposed to in theory make the pump last longer by not running all those solids through filter.  Where it does or not????
