central - east central Minnesota - | Yes, I was running wheat through the last couple days. I haven't tryed oats, but the book has a setting for oats. For small grain, the belt meters are not much better then the fluted meters JD sends - but for beans, they are dead on . . . except for last year. Last year the bean sizes varied so much in the bag. Belt meters can handle 20 some hundred seeds per lb to 4000 seeds/lb. Last yr, it was common to have lima bean sized beans mixed in with 2800 seeds / lb (ect) . . . To many different sized beans in a bag, and they didn't plant accureately . . . They also would not be able to plant alfafla, as some guys do with the old fashion JD meters . . . |
