Subject: RE: Can a front wheel assist pull this

Abilene, Texas
We use a NH8970 MFWD to pull a Flexi-Coil 1720 cart and 33 foot on 9 inch spacing with no problem down here in Texas. This is with the 9inch sweeps. Sowing wheat we do not go very deep and our soils do not pull very hard unless it is wetter than normal, then we might have to drop down a gear. Usually run about 6 mph. We usually run out of traction before power, more weight would help occasionally but I try to avoid it because of compaction issues.

The liquid cart might add enough draft to make it marginal depending on your soil.
