One of the suggestions from Verizon Wireless is to regularly update (I assume once a month) the features of the phone by calling *228 then using option 2. This is air time free. It normally requires 1 or 2 minutes for the phone to connect and receive updated information related to its programming. One thing it does is to update itself to better connect and receive signals, i.e., better service. The instruction manual says to make sure to do this in the home calling area; so I assume that is where it will be most used.

You might try this if you were not aware of it.
