Prepare yourself for the 10K repair and when it comes in at 5-7K you will be happier. When I give an estimate I always quote high, if they are shopping price only I am happy to let the independent shop have a bit of work too. The main thing is to stay in communication with the shop. You dont have to stand over his shoulder but talk to him once a day or so to see how it is coming along.
