Lapel, In | You will also have to pull the main hydraulic pump and go through it. There is a small screen in the head of the pump. Hopefully that will be all it takes is to clean that screen, but I would go though the whole pump while you have it off to see if the pistons or piston bores are not scored. I don't understand why he couldn't replace the screen. Use a small flashlite and have a look inside. That screen needs to be in there. Its very doubtful he flushed all the crud out of the case.
Chances are good, the transmission will be o.k..Probably its only the brakes that have disintigrated from using cheap hydrauilic oil. Be sure to use only John Deere Hygard oil when going back together with it.
