Most likely problem is the temp door actuator in sticking. It is a small odd shaped motor on the right side of the heater case with a 3 or 4 wire connector going into it. It can be accessed from the under side of the dash after the hush panel is removed. May try smacking it when it sticks and see if it moved then.
