NE Iowa | I have 3 girls - 13, 11, and 9. About 3 yrs ago, we bought a 2-seater go cart and I think it has been a good thing for them to learn to drive with. Contrary to what they learned with their Barbie Jeep, they now understand throttle and brake modulation. They also understand about following a desired path - lots of oversteering at the beginning, but now it is very smooth. We have 4-wheelers, too, and they all prefer them; but the go-cart has been a good tool to use a stepping stone to full size vehicles. Will certainly get them in pickup in the field before they are on the road, but now when they get on the road, they will be able to concentrate on other people, traffic, signs, rules, etc instead of trying to learn how to drive. My $.02.
