Dix (Boyd), IL | Another simple illustration is an egg. Shell, white, and yolk, but all are still egg. I like this analogy better than the water one, though that is helpful too. The water illustration gives the impression that God changes form to present Himself differently for different purposes. If so, then how do we explain the Son praying to the Father? I believe the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all three have always existed and have existed at the same time. They are all still God. Three in one.
It is an interesting topic since (as previously posted) the term never appears in Scripture. However, the idea is supported by Scripture, but we have just given a name to it to aid in the discussion.
