One expanation I have heard is compared to water, you can have liquid water,ice, and water vapour. They are all water, but each is seperate from the other or 3 forms of water. Some my want to make this a deep philosophical debate, however as was stated before, God never says we have to understand it, we just have to believe it. Nowhere in scripture are we called to be an adult of God. We are called to be children of God. I believe that is because we are not as smart as we think we are. One missionary that spoke at our church years ago said " the average education of our world is grade 3, so God had to keep things simple, because we arn't that smart." God made salvation simple-just ask, man made it hard-all the rules and regulations
