Subject: RE: John Deere Business Band Radio Kit Install...9300

The guys at Waterloo list a solution {January, 2003 } to keep the business band radio from screwing up the engine RPM when the mic is keyed.
I'm pretty sure they wouldn't mind if I passed it along. It says,

" The coax cable and the radio should be located as far away from the console as possible. The radio should be located on the right front corner post and the coax should be routed at the top of the right side window and down the right rear post and out the bottom of the rear window. The antenna should be located on the roof. If the antenna is located on the hydraulic stack, this could cause erratic hitch operation."

I'm not an expert on this, but they don't seem too worried about running the coax near the engine controller. {its under the rear window} This may be because the wiring from the controller to the engine is pretty well shielded. The input to the control unit, {the throttle lever} is not shielded. That is probably why they want you to stay away from the armrest.
