Couple options first, antifreeze level good? probably or it would be buzzing when it was cold, buzzes when you want to shift, does the throttle sometimes seem delayed? Push on pedal and it takes an extra second to respond or you let off pedal and it keeps accelerating for a second? If this is the case you need a new foot pedal, just changed one on my 95 mack, local mechanic had the reader and the code book. Foot pedal and potentiometer are all one piece. I know my 95 mack and my 97 macks each have a different card for the reader, expensive cards.
