Southeast SD | Hey guys....love this forum. I'm trying to get into a little bit of farming on the side and have about 300 acres of my grandma's land that I will be putting into corn/soybeans next spring. I've got a IH 800 12 row 30" semi-mounted planter and was thinking the other day....."I wonder if I could use the insecticide boxes on each row unit to put down dry fertilizer right behind the seed......." Like I said I'm new to this and just had a thought. Don't know if its been tried or not or wouldn't work. I was just thinking rather than broadcast spreading all over if you could get that fertilizer right in the row maybe it'd be less fertilizer and work just as effective?
