Subject: John Deere 730 Air Disk Drill

Regina/ 14 miles South of Moose Jaw Saskatchewan
Curious if anyone has experience they can share with John Deere 730 air disk drills. There's one with a 787 tank coming up at an auction this spring one province over...

In our case we're an organic cereal grain farm in Southern Saskatchewan - we currently make a tillage pass in the spring (cultivator with dead-rod) - then seed with air seeder (possibly disc harrow).... In organics alot depends on getting the crop off to best start to suppress the weeds.... so I'm wondering if the air disk drill might give us that much more of a jump on establishment than our current rig... Also curious on maintenance issues with these - how often is a person re-discing the openers, or dealing with bad bearings??

Many thanks...

Doug W.
