The key is to back up first for 5-10 feet first before trying to go forward.
I've learned that trick with my old Chevy gas tandem with a tag axle. Back up a little, start in low gear just above an idle, and get your foot off the clutch as quick as possible without jerking it, and give it some throttle. No slipping, jerking, or anything else. When it sinks a little in the field it's much easier to use the clutch starting backwards just a few feet, then go forward. |
