Bow City, AB, Canada | Buddy of mine lost $5500 on a eBay scam on a 55' chevy before christmas. A woman in Ontario with her divorce settlement had a mint 55 to sell. Sent pictures , all looked good, gave him the good story so he went for it. Turned out that it wasn't a eBay account just someone using eBay as a cover. Sent them a electronic transfer, got informed that it was being withheld for clearance and that was it, gone. Police said that nothing they could do, just SOL.
I couldn't believe that he would do that, but I guess live and learn. | |
